Recommended Programs for P.E. and Health
SPARK is a research based, public health organization dedicated to creating, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote lifelong fitness. SPARK strives to promote and improve the health of children, adolescents, and adults by disseminating evidence-based physical education, after school programs, early childhood, and coordinated school health programs to teachers and recreation leaders serving Pre-K to 12th grade students. Programs within the SPARK Program include physical education, early childhood, after school, and coordinated school health. These programs consist of curriculums, project coordination, on-site teacher training, assessment tools, lifetime follow-up support, and SPARK certification and college credit. The SPARK Program has been identified by the CDC as a national model for programs to combat obesity. Overall, SPARK is a great program that applies to all areas inside, as well as outside of
